Fleur de Gay 1996
Robert Parker Wine Advocate "A very disappointing effort from Fleur de Gay, this somewhat emaciated style of winemaking has resulted in a medium to dark ruby/garnet-colored wine with obvious sweet new oak dominating the rather herbaceous, red currant-infused aromatics. In the mouth, the wine is austere, somewhat hollow, with astringent tannin in the finish. Those who think this wine is going to soften and flesh out are entirely too optimistic. Anticipated maturity: Now-2010."
