Branaire Ducru

The Château Branaire Ducru produces two wines : the Grand vin of Branaire Ducru and its second wine, the Duluc de Branaire Ducru, both are blends of the principal varietals found in Bordeaux: Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) , le Merlot (22%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Petit Verdot (3%). The "Grand vin" of Branaire Ducru is very unique with notes of chocolate and spices, less powerful than the three wines of Léoville (Léoville Barton, Léoville Las Cases and Léoville Poyferré), but with more finesse and suppleness. It's capacity to age (10 to 20 years and beyond) and regularity have contributed to its success over the last 25 years. Its most successful vintages include the great 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2003, 2001, 2000, 1996, 1989, 1982, 1975. The Château Branaire Ducru's second wine, Duluc de Branaire Ducru, is fruit driven with silky tannins and can be broached after 3 to 5 years of aging, even up to 10 years for the best vintages.
