Domaine des Tours Merlot Syrah 2010
The Domaine des Tours, nestled in Sarrians in the Vaucluse of southern Rhône, is an iconic estate owned by Emmanuel Reynaud, heir to an exceptional winemaking legacy. Spanning 40 hectares of sandy and clay soils, this domain practises sustainable viticulture, showcasing the region’s grape varieties. The Merlot Syrah 2010 cuvée, under the Vin de Pays de Vaucluse appellation, is a still red wine blending Merlot and Syrah, vinified in concrete vats and aged in barrels, with some new oak for the Merlot.
On tasting, this wine reveals a deep ruby hue and an intense nose of ripe red fruits, such as raspberry and cherry, with hints of spice and liquorice. On the palate, it offers a fleshy texture, supple tannins, and impressive length, finishing with notes of pepper and undergrowth. Perfect with grilled beef rib or lamb tagine, the Domaine des Tours Merlot Syrah 2010 captivates with its richness and harmonious balance.
