Montrose

Chateau Montrose produces 3 Red Bordeaux cuvees  including Montrose Great Wine (the estate's 1^st wine, or Grand Vin de Montrose), and a second wine called "La Dame de Montrose", which is silkier and suppler. In 2010, a third wine was produced in Chateau Montrose. It's called "Le Saint Estephe de Montrose", it comes from the youngest vines, and it is aged on the lees. Montrose's great wine is a distinguished one with a strong sense of place that can also show strength and volume. It has to be kept in the cellar for at least 12 years so that it reaches its peak. Montrose first wine is at its best in the hot years like 1990, 2003, or 2009. In its best years, like 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1996, 1995, 1990, 1989 or 1982, Montrose's great wine can then be at the same level, and sometimes even surpass  Medoc First Classed Growth, like in the excellent years of 1990, 2009 and 2010. These three vintages were awarded the best tasting notes score of 100 by Robert Parker. “La Dame de Montrose” is a very qualitative second wine with a higher proportion of Merlot. It will be best enjoyed after 7 to 10 years in the cellar. Real wine enthusiasts seek after Chateau Montrose’s bottles for their high standard of quality.
