Domaine Prieuré Roch, "natural" wines from the great Burgundy appellations
The wines of Domaine Prieuré Roch
Owned by Henry-Frédéric Roc, co-manager of Romanée Conti, Domaine Prieuré Roch is one of the jewels in the crown of Nuits Saint Georges. It cultivates a small dozen hectares using organic farming methods. Yields are much lower than those usually practised in this appellation, guaranteeing the exceptional quality of Prieuré Roch wines. The Prieuré Roch grapes are vinified as whole bunches, i.e. without de-stemming. Domaine Prieuré Roch cultivates small parcels such as Hautes Maizières, Clos Goillote and Les Suchots in Vose-Romanée, as well as grand crus such as Clos Vougeot and Chambertin Clos de Bèze. Further south, he has a Nuits Saint Georges premier cru monopole, Le Clos des Corvées, and a few ouvrées in Clos des Argilières. He has also acquired 2 hectares in Ladoix, where he produces a white Burgundy and a red Burgundy.
