La Tâche, Grand Cru of Vosne-Romanée in Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, has been exclusively produced as a monopole by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) since 1933. Spanning 6 hectares, this legendary vineyard is divided into two lieux-dits: Les Gaudichots (4.62 ha) and La Tâche Joly de Bévy (1.43 ha), at an altitude of 250 to 300 meters. Its terroir rests on brown limestone soils, combining stony rendzinas at the top and deeper clay at the bottom, on a substratum of Bajocian marls and draining gravel from the Concoeur combe. With an east to southeast exposure and gentle slope, this vineyard planted exclusively with Pinot Noir benefits from optimal conditions for perfect ripening. Cultivated in biodynamics, La Tâche produces elegant and complex wines, with aromas of red fruits (cherry, raspberry), licorice, violet, sweet spices, evolving towards truffle and undergrowth with age. Recognized for its balance, silky structure, and aging potential exceeding 40 years, La Tâche is often compared to La Romanée-Conti for its finesse and worldwide prestige.
