La Tâche, Grand Cru de Vosne-Romanée in the Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, has been exclusively produced as a monopole by the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) since 1933. Spanning 6 hectares, this mythical vineyard is divided into two lieux-dits: Les Gaudichots (4.62 ha) and La Tâche Joly de Bévy (1.43 ha), at an altitude of 250 to 300 metres. Its terroir rests on calcareous brown soils, combining stony rendzinas in the upper part and deeper clays below, on a substratum of Bajocian marls and draining gravels from the combe de Concoeur. With an east to south-east exposure and a gentle slope, this vineyard planted exclusively with Pinot Noir benefits from optimal conditions for perfect ripening. Cultivated biodynamically, La Tâche produces elegant and complex wines, with aromas of red fruits (cherry, raspberry), liquorice, violet, and gentle spices, evolving towards truffle and undergrowth with age. Renowned for its balance, silky structure and ageing potential exceeding 40 years, La Tâche is often compared to La Romanée-Conti for its finesse and worldwide prestige.
