History of the Domaine

Domaine Champenois Louise Brison has a rich history spanning several generations. Louise Brison is essentially a family story, a blend of technical expertise and respect for tradition. The estate has been in the hands of the family for four generations. In 1910, Louise Brison planted the very first hectare of vines, at a time when winemaking was not particularly lucrative. Thanks to her tenacity, the following generations were able to carry on her work, and the estate took a new direction in 1977 with the arrival of Francis BRULEZ. He initiated the production of gastronomic Champagnes, bringing them to the attention of audiences beyond the borders. His daughter, Delphine BRULEZ, ensures the continuity of the family tradition by building a bridge between the past and the future.

Terroirs and Vines

The vineyards of Domaine Louise Brison are established on carefully selected terroirs, characteristic of the diversity of Champagne.

The terroir of the Aube is exceptional, resulting from a particular climate strongly influenced by the Langres plateau (dry and cold) and a soil composed of a clay-limestone base. The soils seem closer to Chablis than to Reims — no chalk on the horizon! Delphine crafts her Champagnes from the 15 hectares of her family's vines, composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. The vines are oriented South-Southeast, at an altitude ranging from 280m to 320m. The entire vineyard has been managed using organic farming since 2012, with certification initiated in 2017; no chemical products or pesticides/insecticides are used. The estate places emphasis above all on respecting the flourishing of natural biodiversity.

The vines, cultivated with passion, benefit from optimal exposure to ensure ideal ripening of the grapes.

Winemaking, a crucial step, takes place under controlled conditions. Traditional methods coexist with modern techniques, allowing Domaine Louise Brison to create well-balanced Champagnes while preserving the expression of the terroir. The cellars, equipped with the most advanced technology, are where the fermentation and ageing process is carried out with precision.
