History of the Estate

The Louise Brison Champagne Estate has a rich history spanning several generations. Louise Brison's story is primarily a family tale, a blend of technical expertise and respect for traditions. The property has been in the family's hands for four generations. In 1910, Louise Brison planted the very first hectare of vineyards at a time when winemaking was not particularly lucrative. Thanks to her tenacity, future generations were able to carry on her work, and the estate took a new direction in 1977 with the arrival of Francis BRULEZ. He initiated the production of gastronomic Champagnes, making them known beyond borders. His daughter, Delphine BRULEZ, ensures the continuity of the family tradition by bridging the gap between the past and the future.

Terroirs and Vines

The vineyards of the Louise Brison Estate are planted on carefully selected terroirs, representative of the diversity of the Champagne region.

The terroir of Aube is exceptional, resulting from a specific climate strongly influenced by the Langres Plateau (dry and cold), and soil composed of an argilo-calcareous base. The soils seem more akin to Chablis than to Reims—no chalk on the horizon! Delphine crafts her Champagne from the 15 hectares of family vines, composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. The vines face South-Southeast, at an altitude ranging from 280m to 320m. The entire vineyard has been managed through organic farming since 2012, with certification initiated in 2017; no chemical products or pesticides/insecticides are used. The estate prioritizes the flourishing of natural biodiversity above all.

The vines, cultivated with passion, benefit from an optimal exposure to ensure ideal grape maturation.

The crucial winemaking process occurs under controlled conditions. Traditional methods coexist with modern techniques, allowing the Louise Brison Estate to craft balanced Champagnes while preserving the expression of the terroir. The cellars, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, are where the fermentation and aging processes unfold with precision.
