The Vilmart & Cie House, established in 1890 in Rilly-la-Montagne within the Montagne de Reims, is a renowned name among champagne producers, blending time-honoured expertise with a deep respect for the terroir. The Grande Réserve Brut cuvée, classified as Premier Cru, features a brut dosage of 8 g/l, striking a fine balance between freshness and richness. This refined blend combines 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, sourced from vines grown on chalky soils, fermented and aged for ten months in oak foudres to enhance its complexity.
On tasting, this champagne displays a golden hue with bright highlights and a delicate effervescence. The nose opens with intense aromas of ripe pear, biscuit, and wheat, evolving into subtle hints of cherry and gentle spices. On the palate, it reveals an elegant texture, blending primary fruitiness with secondary notes of brioche, finishing with a fresh, mineral edge.
