Emmanuel Reynaud is the owner of the illustrious Chateau Rayas and Chateau des Tours, near Chateauneuf du Pape: a true star of the region, he is at the helm of a remarkable galaxy.

These 2 estates produce the eponymous wines as well as the famous Chateau de Fonsalette, Pignan and Pialade (vinified at Rayas), as well as the captivating Domaine des Tours and Parisy (vinified at Chateau des Tours), across various appellations such as Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône or Vin de Pays de Vaucluse.
Both he and the 3 generations that preceded him, from Albert Reynaud to Jacques Reynaud, by way of Louis Reynaud, the Raynaud family embodies — much against his will, he would say — the legend of the Southern Rhône, and perhaps even of the entire vineyard of France.

Château Rayas

The Domaine Château Rayas produces several Fine Wines, well known throughout the region and among enthusiasts of the Southern Rhône Valley, and more particularly of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes du Rhône appellations. 

Château Rayas: the most mythical of all Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines! 

Emmanuel Reynaud crafts here some of the most essential wines of southern France. The red is an atypical 100% grenache. It owes its singularity to the sandy soils oriented due north of the vineyard and to the use of whole-cluster harvesting to produce this remarkably refined wine aged in old large barrels. The result is breathtaking: a wine of truly Burgundian elegance that quickly makes one forget the traditional castel-papal benchmarks. The white is equally in the same vein. Made from grenache blanc and clairette, it needs time to reveal itself.

Pignan: another exceptional Châteauneuf-du-Pape!

Often mistakenly considered the second wine of Château Rayas, Pignan is very much a wine in its own right and a true star of Châteauneuf-du-Pape as well! Unlike its cousin, which is grown on sandy soil, Pignan comes from terraces of rounded pebbles. This is why it is considered the most castel-papal expression of the Reynaud stable. This 100% grenache traditionally exhales notes of leather, spices and red fruits, yet never feels heavy. Its sovereign balance and endless finish make it one of the most sought-after red Châteauneuf-du-Papes. It is the ideal companion to a saddle of lamb or an aubergine gratin with lardons. A pélardon des Cévennes or cèpes à la bordelaise are also excellent table companions.

Fonsalette: A magnificent Côtes du Rhône from the Reynaud universe! 

Owned by the Reynaud family since 1945, Château de Fonsalette covers around ten hectares of vines, woodland and olive trees. Grenache, cinsault, syrah as well as clairette and marsanne are cultivated here. From these varieties are produced wines under the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation — both white and red — that are not without recalling the finesse of their elder siblings from Château Rayas. Although sourced from different terroirs and blends, they are vinified in the same place by the same team.

Pialade: a second mythical Côtes du Rhône!

On tasting, it is aromas of jammy red fruits that lead the dance, all with great amplitude while remaining elegant and refined. Sometimes considered the "Petit Vin de Rayas" as it is made from grapes not used for Rayas or Fonsalette… It remains incredible on tasting! 

Château des Tours 

Château des Tours, for its part, also produces magnificent, more accessible wines that can be enjoyed a little younger. They span several appellations: Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse.

The red Côtes-du-Rhône and Vin de Pays du Vaucluse are vibrant, full-blooded wines that appeal to lovers of sun-drenched wines. The Vacqueyras requires more time to develop but also rewards with greater complexity.

Domaine des Tours 

A wide range of cuvées bearing the Vin de Pays de Vaucluse appellation are offered here, showcasing the finest grape varieties of the Southern Rhône such as Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette… and even Merlot!

Parisy: A magnificent gastronomic rosé, classified as Vin de France! 

Once a table wine, this rosé — whose colour is reminiscent of Bordeaux Clairet — is made from a blend of Cinsault and Grenache. It is a true explosion of indulgence! A burst of fruit on the palate, like crushed strawberry, it is a rich wine with a suave and utterly unique character.
