From the association between 2 great figures (Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent, an outstanding winemaker/éleveur from Burgundy), only Michel Tardieu remains since the early 2000s, now assisted by his son Bastien and his daughter Camille.

Here, high-end négociant activity is practiced: thanks to fine sourcing and a keen sense of winemaking and aging, the Michel Tardieu house produces a range of consistent wines with a modern spirit. A very complete négociant operation, present across multiple appellations, secured by carefully and rigorously selected sourcing in the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône (as well as in Bandol). Michel Tardieu states: "It is by never ceasing to taste with the finest winemakers from all regions that one acquires a culture of the "good" — an indispensable foundation for understanding wine and terroir…" Among the broad range of white Rhône cuvées from Maison Tardieu-Laurent, the Condrieu presents aromas of cedrat and lime zest. The palate is linear, chiseled, fine and delicate, with beautiful energy. The white Hermitage, composed of 80% Marsanne and 20% Roussanne, offers notes of white currant, crushed stone, charcoal and acacia blossom on the nose; the wine is full-bodied, deep and powerful on the palate, with good acidity and a very long finish. The white Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes, composed of 40% Grenache Blanc, 30% Roussanne, 20% Clairette and 10% Bourboulenc, is creamy and seductive in style, with notes of lemon sorbet, white peach, golden apple, fennel and jasmine, rounded off by a warm brioche finish. On the red Rhône side, the Saint-Joseph Vieilles Vignes offers notes of violet, bacon, olive tapenade and pepper; it is elegant and balanced, with good intensity, ripe tannins and a beautiful finish. To drink within 8 to 10 years. The red Hermitage shows great character in a ripe bouquet of black raspberry, melting liquorice, roasted meat and smoky aromas and flavours. This full-bodied and powerful wine displays rich fruit, ripe and supple tannins, an ample mid-palate and a beautiful finish. The Châteauneuf-du-Pape is well-structured, with lush fruit and a balanced, not overly powerful body. The Cuvée Spéciale is more subtle, with Grenache expressing itself freely through notes of flowers and macerated fruit. The palate fully asserts its voluptuousness and airy power. Made almost entirely from Grenache, this special cuvée will develop beautifully over 10 to 15 years. The most patient will be rewarded.
