The history of Domaine Sérafin begins with Stanislaus Sérafin, a Polish immigrant who arrived in France in the 1930s. After overcoming the trials of World War II, including captivity in Germany, Stanislaus settled in Gevrey-Chambertin and acquired his first vineyard parcels at modest prices, thus laying the foundation of the estate in 1947. A passionate autodidact, he learned the art of viticulture and built, with his son Christian, a house and cellar at the foot of the prestigious Premier Cru Les Cazetiers. In the 1980s, Christian modernized the estate by developing on-site bottling and initiating wine exports, gaining international recognition, notably thanks to praise from the Parker Guide.

Since 1988, when Christian officially took over the estate, he has enriched the vineyard through the acquisition of parcels in Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. Today, Karine Sérafin, his daughter, manages the marketing and administration of the estate, while his niece, Frédérique Goulley, oversees viticulture and winemaking. Together, they perpetuate the family legacy with unwavering commitment to quality and tradition, while integrating modern practices that respect the environment.
