The estate produces 2 red wines. The first great Ausone wine is the archetype of the greatest St Emilion. Both powerful and very aromatic, deep and velvety with its crisp freshness, this exceptional wine is exquisite, particularly in hot years. Sometimes austere in its first years, it gradually opens and exudes its interminable finish after 10 to 15 years in the bottle, if it has been cellared in good conditions. In its best vintages (which are the following: 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2005, 2003, 2001, 2000, 1998, 1995, 1990, 1983, 1982 and 1976), the great red wine of Chateau Ausone is internationally acclaimed by critics thanks to amazing tasting marks that it got, like in 2005, 2003, and 2000 when it got the perfect mark of 100/100 from Robert Parker. The aging capacity of this great wine is exceptional and seems to be between 20 and 40 years, and more, since the 1990s. The second wine of the chateau is named "Chapelle d’Ausone" (which makes up more than a third of the whole production) is made out of the young vines of the vineyard, and is mainly made of merlot, which develops its roundness. Its ageing capacity is also lesser (but still 8 to 15 years), but the good part is that you'll be able to enjoy it earlier than the other one.
