In the village of Vosne-Romanee in the Cote de Nuits, there are 6 Grands Crus of Burgundy planted with Pinot Noir, including La Romanee-Saint-Vivant. It covers 9 ha and it is shared by several owners, including the Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Louis Latour and Domaine Leroy. Its wines are less powerful than those of its neighbours Richebourg and Romanee-Conti, because this cru is located lower on the hill above the village and its soils are deeper. They are nevertheless of a beautiful aromatic persistence, a remarkable elegance and velvety.
