All wines from the Volnay appellation in Burgundy

The Volnay appellation, nestled in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, is a prestigious communal appellation, recognized since 1937 for its red wines made from Pinot Noir. Spanning approximately 220 hectares, it mainly covers the commune of Volnay and a small part of Meursault, notably the Santenots climat. With 132.54 hectares classified as Premier Cru (nearly 60% of its area), this appellation includes 29 renowned climats such as "Clos des Chênes" or "Les Santenots". Located mid-slope between 260 and 300 meters altitude, these Premiers Crus benefit from a southeast exposure and marly-limestone soils, offering elegant, fine, and intensely aromatic red wines, often described as feminine. The average annual production reaches 7,700 hectoliters, predominantly from Premiers Crus, which consolidates Volnay's reputation among great Burgundy wine enthusiasts.
