An extremely hot year in Bordeaux producing very ripe, sometimes slightly overheated wines and sweet wines with a great deal of richness. The Pomerol and Saint Emilion are particularly successful. Also a great year in red Burgundy and exceptional in the Loire with anthology-worthy sweet wines.
