Domaine de la Tournelle makes this Poulsard Vieilles Vignes 1996 from the limestone soils of Arbois. Aged in large oak casks, this red wine offers notes of cherry and sweet spice. Fresh and mineral, it charms with its balance. Enjoy through 2028 with game or firm cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of the Jura, this family estate brings together a preserved terroir and an artisanal philosophy championed by Evelyne and Pascal Clairet since the 1990s.
- Terroir : The limestone and marl slopes of Arbois, bathed in a continental climate, shape wines with vibrant minerality and rare elegance.
- Winemaking : An unwavering respect for living things – biodynamically farmed vines, gentle maceration and aging in large oak casks yield cuvées of pristine purity.
Tasting notes for Domaine de la Tournelle Arbois Poulsard Vieilles Vignes 1996
- Appearance : A pale ruby color with brick-red highlights and a silky texture, slightly softened by age.
- Nose : First, aromas of tart sour cherry and wild raspberry, followed by notes of damp undergrowth, wild mushrooms and a saline touch.
- Palate : A lively, focused entry driven by chalky acidity and subtle minerality, followed by a long, slightly spicy finish that mingles candied red fruit with a hint of licorice.
Serve between 14 and 16 °C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
