Domaine Raveneau's rise to international prominence is closely linked to the celebrated importer Kermit Lynch, who tasted a Chablis Raveneau at Taillevent and propelled it to the top of his sales in the United States. Previously, although the wines enjoyed excellent reviews in France, the domaine was not known abroad — that changed in the 1980s when the wines were exported to the United States for the first time.
