One of the best value for money wines from Châteauneuf-du-Pape
La Roquète has very different soils from those of the Vieux Télégraphe estate, also owned by the Brunier family. Across 40 hectares (of which 29 ha are under the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation), it cultivates a wide variety of grape varieties. Although produced from blends, the reds are composed primarily of grenache. Only the single-vineyard cuvée L'accent de la Roquète is a 100% grenache from old vines. They are aged for 18 months in concrete tanks and large oak casks. The whites undergo shorter ageing of around 10 months. The wines from this estate are generally best enjoyed in their youth rather than their Châteauneuf-du-Pape counterparts from Vieux Télégraphe.
