Wines from Domaine de La Roquète: buy at the best price

La Roquète has very different soils from those of the domaine du Vieux Télégraphe, also owned by the Brunier family. Across 40 hectares (of which 29 ha are in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation), it cultivates a wide variety of grape varieties. Although produced from blends, the reds are composed predominantly of grenache. Only the single-vineyard cuvée L'accent de la Roquète is a 100% grenache from old vines. They are aged for 18 months in concrete vats and large oak barrels. The whites undergo shorter aging of around 10 months. The wines from this domaine are generally better enjoyed in their youth than their Châteauneuf-du-Pape counterparts from Vieux Télégraphe.
