Château Gloria 2002: The Elegance of a Great Saint-Julien
The Château Gloria 2002 is an iconic cuvée from the Saint-Julien appellation, located on Bordeaux’s Left Bank. Founded by Henri Martin, this estate, despite not being classified in the 1855 ranking, is widely recognised for its craftsmanship and consistently high-quality wines, standing alongside the region’s finest crus.
The 2002 vintage is made from a classic Médoc blend, predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. This combination provides structure, finesse, and aromatic complexity.
Its deep garnet colour with brick reflections reflects its ageing. The nose reveals blackcurrant, plum, leather, and forest floor, with hints of cedar and blond tobacco. On the palate, the attack is smooth and elegant, with well-integrated tannins and refreshing acidity, leading to a long, harmonious finish with notes of dark fruits and sweet spices.
This Château Gloria 2002 pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steak, roasted duck fillet, or a selection of aged cheeses. Now at its peak, this wine is ready to be enjoyed in all its complexity.
