All wines from the Médoc appellation in Bordeaux
The Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) Médoc in Bordeaux is located along the Gironde estuary, approximately 55 km northwest of Bordeaux, and is thus the northernmost appellation of the Bordeaux region. The generic term "Médoc" encompasses 8 appellations on the Left Bank: 2 sub-regional appellations (Médoc + Haut-Médoc) and 6 communal appellations (Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Saint-Julien, Moulis-en-Médoc, Listrac-Médoc, Margaux). However, the Médoc AOC, covering 5,473 hectares, produces only red wines blended from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, a small amount of Cabernet Franc, and a small percentage of Petit Verdot and Malbec.
