The Lise & Bertrand Jousset estate, based in Montlouis-sur-Loire in the Loire Valley, was founded in 2004 by Lise and Bertrand Jousset, a couple dedicated to natural wines. Across 11 hectares of organic vineyards, with some plots under biodynamic practices, this domain excels in the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation. The Singulier Clos Aux Renards 2012 cuvée, a still white wine, is crafted entirely from Chenin Blanc from old vines on clay-limestone soil, vinified in 400- and 600-litre barrels without added sulphur for maximum purity.
On tasting, this wine presents an evolved pale gold hue and an intense nose of quince, honey, and wet stone, with a hint of oxidation. On the palate, it offers a dense texture, vibrant acidity, and a mineral finish, marked by notes of dried fruit and limestone.
