TASTING REPORT

Discover the tasting report of the Oenoschool tasting of 10/05/2015: Chile and Argentina! The opportunity to discover these South American vineyards where vine cultivation always expresses itself deliciously.

Argentina - Vinedos de la Posada Torrontes 2011 Nose of exotic fruits, peaches, melon. On the palate the attack is fruity, the length is correct with controlled alcohol.

Chile - Prince Edwards Carmenere 2013 Nose of black fruits, floral, mentholated... The palate is fruity with silky tannins, simple but very aromatic.

Chile - Montsecano Pinot Noir Refugio 2012 A color of medium intensity, a nose of wild strawberries and black cherry. The palate is very indulgent but sunny which harms a bit the finesse of the grape variety.

Chile - Clos Ouvert Huasa 2011 Cauquenes The robe is matte, slightly cloudy. The nose is fruity, bacony and meaty. The palate is dense and fruity, with a beautiful acidity-alcohol balance.

Chile - Concha y Toro D.O Puente Alto Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 A dense, slightly evolved robe. A smoky and meaty nose, with cocoa and black fruits. The palate is very fresh, very "Bordeaux-like" with fruit, peppery notes and black fruits as well as beautiful persistence.

Argentina - Achaval Ferrer Mendoza Quimera 2006 (Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot...) Parker 94/100 A slightly cloudy and dense robe. A nose of black fruits and leather, slightly meaty. The palate is very fruity with melted tannins and beautiful acidity on smoky notes and black cherry. A wine ready to drink.

Chile - Toknar Von Siebenthal 2006 Petit Verdot Parker 95/100 The robe is opaque and little evolved. A nose of graphite, black fruits and cocoa. The very pure palate is straight and long. There is still great aging potential for this wine but the tannins are pleasant and the finish very fresh. A very beautiful elegant and digestible wine.

Argentina - Mendoza Cheval des Andes 2004 (Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon,...) A dense and little evolved robe. A nose of balsamic black fruits, cocoa, coffee. The palate is mentholated, cocoa-flavored, quite strict with tannins still present. A very beautiful straightness and aromatic persistence but the whole remains austere for a South American wine.
