The Hospices de Beaune wine estate is one of the most fascinating heritage sites in all of Burgundy. Built up since 1457 through donations and bequests from families grateful to the Hôtel-Dieu, it now covers approximately 60 hectares spread across more than 120 plots, 85% of which are classified as premier cru or grand cru. Each year, around fifty historic cuvées bearing the names of their donors are vinified and then sold at auction on the third Sunday of November, during the most celebrated charity sale in the world.
