Lirac, nestled in the southern Rhône Valley, extends over 715 hectares in the Gard, covering the communes of Lirac, Roquemaure, Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres, and Saint-Geniès-de-Comolas. Recognized since 1947, this appellation produces red wines (80%), rosés, and whites, prized for their finesse and aromas of red fruits, spices, and garrigue. The soils of rolled pebbles, clay, and sand, combined with grape varieties such as Grenache and Syrah (for reds) and Clairette (for whites), give Lirac wines an elegance comparable to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but more affordable. With a yield of 35 hl/ha, Lirac seduces enthusiasts and connoisseurs of Rhône wines.
