Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a wine for ageing that deserves patience and attention. For powerful vintages such as 1990 or 2005, it is advisable to wait at least 10 to 15 years after the harvest before opening a bottle, in order to allow the tannins to refine and the bouquet to develop fully. At maturity, the wine reveals complex aromas of candied dark fruits, violet, truffle and gentle spices. Decanting for one to two hours is strongly recommended for young bottles, in order to release the full aromatic expression of the Merlot.
