Absolutely. Richard Leroy's wines are wines for ageing that require patience to express their full potential. With an uncommonly high dry extract density and crafted with a minimum of sulphur, these wines do not reveal themselves immediately: a few years in the bottle are essential for all their elements to come together. Les Noëls de Montbenault, in particular, can easily evolve in the cellar for ten to fifteen years, gaining in aromatic complexity and depth. Le Clos des Rouliers opens up a little earlier, but also benefits from an additional three to five years of ageing. A cool cellar between 12 and 14 °C, away from light, is ideal for storing them in the best conditions.
