Château Gruaud Larose crafts its grand red wine from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, which typically represents between 55 and 65% of the grape variety composition, depending on the vintage. It is complemented by Merlot, which brings roundness and fruitiness, as well as smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This typical Saint-Julien blend gives the wine its assertive tannic structure, its excellent ageing potential and its complex aromas of dark fruits, cedar and spices that develop after several years of cellaring.
