L'Aitonnement Mondeuse Noire Dark Side 2021 rouge

The Domaine de l’Aitonnement, located in Aiton in Savoie, is led by Maxime Dancoine, an oenologist trained in Beaune and Changins, who took over this vineyard in 2016. Spanning 2 hectares of steep slopes with grey marl and schist soils, certified organic and biodynamic, this estate revitalises the Vin de France appellation with Savoyard grape varieties. The Mondeuse Noire Dark Side 2021 cuvée, a still red wine, is crafted entirely from old-vine Mondeuse Noire, vinified in cocciopesto amphorae without added sulphur for a natural infusion.

On tasting, this wine displays a deep ruby hue and an intense nose of dark fruits, such as blackberry, blended with pepper and liquorice. On the palate, it delivers a fleshy texture, firm tannins, and a spicy finish, reflecting the dark power of this grape.
