A bottle of Champagne for over one million euros...

In June 2013, the British brand "Goût de Diamant" presented the most expensive bottle of Champagne in the world. Its price? No less than 1.8 million euros…

Created by Alexander Amosu, a 38-year-old designer originally from Nigeria, this record-priced bottle at 1.838 million euros is distinguished by its extravagance: the label is made of solid 18-carat white gold encrusted with a 19-carat white diamond. The S-shaped logo, for its part, is not without a resemblance to that of Superman…

Handcrafted by luxury goldsmiths, this bottle of Champagne "Gout de Diamant" can contain rosé champagne, blanc de blancs champagne or brut champagne depending on preference. Although listed as the most expensive bottle in the world, the champagne it contains does not hold that title. At present, it is Champagne Krug Clos d'Ambonnay, a blanc de noirs, that holds the title of the most expensive champagne in the world: its average price stands at 2,021 euros. It is followed by two Dom Pérignon cuvées (from the Moët et Chandon group): the P3 Plenitude Brut (1,530 euros) and the Dom Pérignon Œnothèque Rosé, whose average price is 997 euros. These prices do not take into account the records set at auctions, where the prices of certain exceptional bottles regularly soar. In 2004 in New York at the Christie's sale, a bottle of Dom Pérignon 1921 (the house's 1er vintage) saw its price exceed 20,000 euros! Just like this 200-year-old bottle of Champagne Veuve Cliquot which, after being found in a shipwreck at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, was sold for 30,000 euros, or a 1959 Dom Pérignon rosé sold for 27,600 euros in 2008….
