Philippe Alliet Chinon Tradition 2020
The Domaine Philippe Alliet is a benchmark in the Chinon appellation of the Loire Valley. Located in Cravant-les-Coteaux, the estate is renowned for its meticulous work with Cabernet Franc, producing wines that are both precise, deep, and elegant. Philippe Alliet, now joined by his son Pierre, is dedicated to expressing the unique character of each terroir through respectful viticulture and carefully controlled vinifications.
Sourced from vines grown on gravel and clay soils, the Chinon Tradition 2020 is a pure Cabernet Franc that perfectly represents the appellation’s identity. The 2020 vintage, shaped by a warm and sunny climate, allowed for excellent ripeness while maintaining the freshness essential to the wine’s balance.
In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby hue. The nose is filled with aromas of ripe red fruits, cassis, and raspberry, enhanced by floral notes and a subtle hint of pepper. On the palate, the attack is smooth and velvety, supported by a bright acidity that brings freshness and length. The fine, silky tannins integrate seamlessly into a lingering, slightly spicy finish.
This Chinon Tradition 2020 pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, herb-roasted veal, or aged cheeses. An accessible and well-balanced wine, perfect for discovering the charm of great Loire Valley Cabernet Francs.
