A legendary Burgundian estate with a reputation for excellence
Wines from Domaine Leroy: buy at the best price
Lalou Bize Leroy is a living legend. Fiercely criticised in her early days, her vision of Burgundian viticulture is nonetheless unparalleled. From 1988, she chose to cultivate her various climats using biodynamics. She is a fervent advocate of low yields in the vineyard and whole-cluster fermentation during vinification. These three elements form the triptych of success for this exceptional winemaker, respected by critics. Today at the head of 22 hectares — of which 18 are red Burgundy — she owns no fewer than 9 grands crus, all located in the Côte de Nuits except for her Corton Charlemagne and Corton Renardes, which are in the Côte de Beaune. Among these one can cite Richebourg, Romanée Saint Vivant, Musigny and Chambertin. Several premier crus of great quality belong to Domaine Leroy in the Vosne-Romanée appellation: Aux Brûlés and Les Beaux-Monts.
