The Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2023 from Domaine Sylvain Cathiard embodies the elegance of the Grand Cru wines of the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir (vines from 1919) combines red fruits, minerality and freshness after barrel aging. Its silky and precise texture pairs with game and cheeses until 2038+.
Domaine Sylvain Cathiard
Nestled at the heart of Vosne-Romanée, this family estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage of excellence, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir : Exceptional plots in the Côte de Nuits, where clay-limestone soils and unique microclimates give rise to Pinot Noirs of rare precision.
- Vinification : A respectful approach, blending tradition and modernity – indigenous yeasts, aging in carefully selected barrels, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2023
To the eye – A deep ruby robe, of a silky density, where the light dances with an almost mineral elegance.
On the nose – First aromas of morello cherry and wild raspberry, followed by notes of violet and faded rose, before a touch of graphite and flint anchors the complexity.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a saline and persistent finish, where gentle spices and dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full purity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by harmonious ripeness and preserved freshness, offering an ideal balance between concentration and finesse.
- Aging potential : To be kept 15 to 20 years in a cellar at a stable temperature (12–14°C) and controlled humidity.
