The Tavel appellation, located in the Gard (southern Rhône Valley), is world-renowned for its dry, elegant, and complex rosé wines. Spanning approximately 930 hectares, this AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, created in 1936) covers Tavel and part of Roquemaure. Its unique terroir, composed of sandy soils, rounded pebbles, clay, and limestone, combined with a Mediterranean climate influenced by the mistral, promotes quality grapes. The main grape varieties, such as Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, produce rosés with a deep color, aromas of red fruits and spices, perfect for accompanying dishes or aging in the cellar. With an annual production of approximately 40,000 hectoliters and a limited yield of 46 hl/ha, Tavel guarantees exceptional quality, highly prized by rosé wine enthusiasts.
