Esprit de Leflaive Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets 2019, a Pinot Noir from the clay-limestone soils of Pommard. Crisp fruitiness, mineral structure, precise tannins and vivacity. Ideal with duck or game, to be enjoyed now or cellared for 5 to 10 years.
Heir to a unique biodynamic expertise, Esprit de Leflaive embodies the exacting standards of the legendary estate of Puligny-Montrachet, extended to the great terroirs of Burgundy.
- Terroir: Les Arvelets, a Premier Cru climat of Pommard, marries deep clays and white limestone for an expression that is both powerful and refined.
- Winemaking: Oak barrel ageing, absolute respect for the fruit, measured extraction to preserve the freshness and tension of the Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Esprit de Leflaive Pommard 1er Cru Les Arvelets 2019
In the glass: Intense garnet robe with ruby reflections, of silky and luminous density, heralding a substance that is at once generous and precise.
On the nose: Freshness of morello cherry and wild blackberry, evolving towards notes of violet and soft liquorice, lifted by a mineral touch of flint and a saline hint.
On the palate: Velvety texture, supple yet present tannins, lively acidity and chalky minerality carrying a long and elegant finish, marked by aromas of dark fruits and gentle spices.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2019
A sunny yet balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes combines with a preserved freshness, ideal for wines intended for cellaring.
- Ageing potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool (12–14°C) and humid cellar, away from light.
