Opening a Château Margaux at the right moment is essential to fully enjoy its aromas. For a young or still-evolving vintage, decanting for one to two hours in a wide-based decanter allows the wine to oxygenate and opens up its still-present tannins. For older, more evolved vintages, caution is advised: a short decanting of around twenty minutes is sufficient so as not to disturb the delicate tertiary aromas. The ideal serving temperature is between 16 and 18°C to reveal the full aromatic palette of the estate.
