How does Château Pape Clément evolve over time and which vintages should you choose?

Château Pape Clément is a wine built for ageing. Great vintages such as 1961, 1975, 1982, 1989, 1990 and 2000 perfectly illustrate its ability to improve over the years, developing complex tertiary aromas of undergrowth, leather and truffle. As a general rule, it is advisable to wait at least 8 to 12 years before opening a bottle from the most powerful vintages, in order to fully appreciate its ageing potential.
