Tasting notes for Jean-Marc Sélèque Chardonnay 5 Terroirs Le Quintette Extra Brut
Appearance: A pale golden hue of crystal clarity, threaded with fine, persistent bubbles that hint at a silky texture and mineral tension.
On the nose: Fresh aromas of orange zest and pink grapefruit intertwine with deeper notes of ripe apricot, candied ginger and spiced pear, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of dried white flowers.
On the palate: A lively, precise opening, driven by elegant acidity, reveals a chalky texture and saline minerality that carry through to a long, lingering finish, with subtle notes of toast and nougat.
Serve at 8–10 °C in a Champagne flute or white wine glass to bring out its complexity.
2017 vintage
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, with cool nights preserving the Chardonnay’s natural acidity and giving this cuvée remarkable tension and depth.
- Aging potential : Enjoy now or cellar for up to eight years in a cool place (12–14 °C), away from light.
