The UGM Salon brings together talented men and women, working with respect for their environment and their land. It was on the initiative of Didier Dagueneau, in 1990, that these vine artists gather each year to share their precision. Driven by the same passion, our Vins & Millésimes experts went to discover the latest vintages of these terroir lovers. Champagne Selosse - Anselme Selosse Returning to the family estate in 1974, Anselme will enter his 45th harvest this year. He proudly claims the uniqueness of each harvest and offers Champagne enthusiasts the precision of his terroir through his 14 cuvées, from 8.5 hectares, mainly in the commune of Avize, the cradle of the Côte des Blancs.
Domaine Didier Dagueneau - Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau With 11 hectares in the heart of the Pouilly Fumé appellation (plus 1 hectare of Sancerre in the Côte des Monts Damnés at Chavignol), Louis-Benjamin and his sister Charlotte are convinced that the difference lies in the details, just like their father before them. Purity and respect are their guiding principles: maximum manual work, minimum intervention, with particular attention to the vines to harvest the best grapes and produce elegant, deep and authentic wines.
Domaine Roulot - Jean Marc Roulot Mainly located in the commune of Meursault, Guy Roulot was one of the first winemakers to vinify his Meursault villages separately in the 1960s, paving the way for defining the diversity of Burgundy soils and their truest expression. Winemaker at the family estate since 1989, Jean-Marc follows in his father Guy's footsteps by developing an organic approach, then biodynamic in the 2000s. The estate's 2016 vintages are in line with the emerging profile of the vintage: marked acidity, sometimes a bit austere, requiring much patience. A comparison can be made with the 2007 vintage, hoping that Domaine Roulot's 2016 Meursaults will find the same destiny.
Clos Rougeard - Nady Foucault An international phenomenon still little known twenty years ago, Clos Rougeard has become the darling of the Loire with its superb Cabernet Francs. Following the purchase of Clos by Martin Bouygues in 2015, Nady Foucault remains master of the upcoming vintages and continues to work as the eight generations before him did: with the support of time. The 10 hectares of Clos produce 40,000 bottles in excellent yield years, from impeccable grapes, picked at perfect maturity, with twenty-four months of aging followed by two years of cellaring.
Jacques Puffeney After 52 vintages and at the age of 70, Jacques Puffeney leased half of his estate to the Marquis d'Angerville and preserved the rest for his nephew and himself. It is with these emblematic parcels on the marly terroirs of Montigny-les-Arsures and Arbois, among others, that the Marquis d'Angerville created Domaine du Pélican, which is well worth discovering.
Because indulgence has never been a fault, we took the opportunity to meet culinary artisans who did not disappoint... Alex Croquet: "I love bread rich in taste, in crust, in creamy crumb with anarchic alveoli, revealing the generosity of wheat ripened in the sun."
