The Château Rauzan-Ségla 2006, Deuxième Grand Cru Classé de Margaux, embodies the finesse of its clay-gravel soils. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, aged in oak barrels, captivates with its aromas of dark fruits, cherry and tobacco, its silky texture and its minerality. To enjoy until 2032, it pairs ideally with duck breast or a leg of lamb.
Nestled at the heart of the Margaux appellation, this historic estate, classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru in 1855, embodies the alliance between Bordeaux tradition and contemporary excellence since its acquisition by the house of Chanel in 1994.
- Terroir : 70 hectares of clay-gravel soils, where deep gravels and clay lend the wines their mineral elegance and legendary finesse.
- Vinification : Precise blending, ageing in French oak barrels (50% new) and controlled yields to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
To the eye: a deep garnet red robe with tawny highlights, a silky density and a crystalline brilliance that already heralds its harmonious maturity.
On the nose: first aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by more evolved notes of candied fruit, blood orange peel, then a subtle hint of blonde tobacco and faded rose, all underlined by a chalky minerality and a saline edge.
On the palate: a velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension that balances the richness of the melted tannins; the finish, long and elegant, lingers with nuances of liquorice and cocoa, with a hint of graphite characteristic of the great Margaux wines.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
A vintage marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a perfect balance between tannic structure and fruity freshness, ideal for enjoying today.
- Ageing Potential : Best kept until 2032 under optimal conditions (stable temperature of 12–14°C and controlled humidity), where it will continue to evolve with grace.
