Sourced from the gravels of Margaux, the Brane-Cantenac 1998 (2nd Grand Cru Classé) blends Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Notes of violets and redcurrant, with a palate balanced by a chalky minerality. Ready after 30 minutes in a decanter, ideal with red meats.
A family estate rooted in the legendary terroir of Margaux, where exacting standards and tradition shape wines of timeless elegance.
- Terroir : Deep Margaux gravels, poor and well-draining soils that lend the wines their distinctive minerality and refined structure.
- Vinification : A classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, patiently aged to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Brane-Cantenac Brane Cantenac 1998
- Appearance : A garnet red robe with brick-toned reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance, already hinting at a harmonious maturity.
- On the nose : An airy bouquet where fresh violet, dried rose, aged cedar and a hint of blonde tobacco intertwine, before giving way to deeper notes of ripe redcurrant and mineral graphite.
- On the palate : A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a melted tannic structure, where flavors of dark fruits, soft spices and a chalky minerality unfold, leading to a long, saline finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromatic complexity.
