The PHILIPPONNAT house is located in Aÿ and was founded in 1910 by brothers Auguste and Pierre Philipponnat. After Auguste’s death, Pierre took sole charge of the Champagne house and, in 1935, acquired the parcel known as Clos des Goisses, a unique, steeply sloping (45°), south-facing 5.5-hectare clos.
