Located not far from Toulouse in the heart of the Fronton appellation, this iconic family estate of the South-West was established in the 15th century. In the 1980s, the château was taken over by the Baron de Driesen. He was joined by his daughter Diane Cauvin at the end of the 1990s, and it was together that she learned the winemaker's craft.
In 2005, Diane took over the estate with her husband. They wished to develop it and directed their actions towards converting the estate to organic and biodynamic agriculture. They obtained Biodyvin certification in 2012. They strive to produce Fronton wines that are both accessible and elegant. Today, the vineyard, under the Fronton appellation, extends over approximately 15 hectares: 13 hectares in red (négrette, syrah, cabernet franc, gamay noir à jus blanc, malbec (cot) and cabernet-sauvignon) and 2 hectares in white (bouysselet, chenin and sauvignon blanc). Château La Colombière produces approximately 60,000 bottles per year and offers a diversified range. In white, the Grand B cuvée offers notes of curry and fresh grass. In red, the Fronton Réserve cuvée is rather digestible and offers floral aromas and red fruits. Beautiful freshness on the palate with a peppery finish. The Colombière Vinum cuvée is very gourmet and provides immediate pleasure and the Coste rouge cuvée, a pure négrette on red clay gravel is both fruity and deep.
