La Romanée, an exceptional red wine classified as Grand Cru, is produced on the La Romanée climat in Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. Exclusive monopoly of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair since 2002, this vineyard extends over an area of only 0.85 hectares, making La Romanée the smallest wine appellation in France and one of the rarest Grands Crus. Planted exclusively with Pinot Noir, the terroir rests on brown-red limestone soil, less clayey than that of Romanée-Conti, with a subsoil of hard Premeaux limestone and a 10-12% slope promoting optimal drainage. Cultivated biodynamically, La Romanée wine captivates with its finesse, silky structure and complex aromas of black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), sweet spices, violet, and mineral or smoky notes. With an aging potential of 20 to 50 years, this wine rivals the greatest, such as Romanée-Conti, with its elegance and subtle power.
