Carré Frères Trépail 1er Cru Les Hauts Bouitais 2023 expresses Trépail’s chalky soils. This Coteaux Champenois, made from biodynamically grown Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, offers a lively, mineral palate and white fruit aromas. Ideal over the next 3 to 5 years, it pairs beautifully with fine fish or fresh asparagus.
A family estate rooted in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, where Champagne’s winemaking heritage is passed down with dedication and respect for the terroir.
- Terroir: Steep, chalky soils in Trépail, a Premier Cru village of the Montagne de Reims, shape wines with vibrant minerality and finely defined elegance.
- Winemaking: A parcel-by-parcel approach and native yeasts reveal the purity of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir while respecting natural cycles.
Tasting notes for Carré Frères Trépail 1er Cru Les Hauts Bouitais 2023
Appearance: A golden hue with green highlights, silky clarity and crystalline brilliance, like a glint of chalk beneath the Champagne sun.
Nose: White floral aromas (hawthorn and acacia) open into notes of candied citrus (lime and grapefruit), then give way to a saline touch and chalky minerality evocative of the named vineyard’s limestone soils.
Palate: A lively, taut opening, driven by precise acidity and a creamy texture. Minerality persists through a long, saline finish reminiscent of sea breezes sweeping across the slopes.
Serve at 10–12°C in a Burgundy white wine glass to bring out its complexity.
