The Henri Naudin-Ferrand estate, based in Magny-lès-Villers in Burgundy, is led by Claire Naudin, a skilled winemaker who took over the family legacy in 1991 with a scientific yet natural approach. Across 22 hectares, 12 of which are organic, this domain excels in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits appellation. The 2019 cuvée, a still red wine, is crafted entirely from Pinot Noir from southeast-facing clay-limestone slopes, vinified in stainless steel tanks with gentle maceration and partially aged in used barrels to retain its freshness.
On tasting, this wine reveals a light ruby hue and a delicate nose of raspberry, red cherry, and rose petals, with a mineral hint. On the palate, it delivers a light texture, fine tannins, and a lively finish, marked by red fruit notes and subtle damp earth. Perfect with roast guinea fowl or a cheese like Citeaux, the Henri Naudin-Ferrand Hautes-Côtes de Nuits 2019 captivates with its elegance and Burgundian purity.
