The Petit Roy Hautes Côtes de Nuits 2021 from Domaine Petit-Roy is born on the limestone soils of the appellation. This Pinot Noir, vinified as whole clusters and aged in barrels, captivates with its aromas of red fruits and its minerality. Lively and elegant, it pairs with meats and cheeses. Cellaring: 3 to 5 years.
Nestled in Chorey-lès-Beaune, this family estate embodies the alliance of a Burgundian heritage and a Japanese sensibility, guided by Seiichi Saito.
- Terroir: 2.1 hectares in Burgundy, where the limestone soils and hillsides of the Hautes Côtes de Nuits sculpt wines of a chalky minerality and a taut elegance.
- Winemaking: uncertified biodynamic approach, slow fermentations with indigenous yeasts, reductive ageing to preserve the purity of the fruit.
To the eye: a deep ruby colour with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: aromas of fresh morello cherry, wild blackberry and violet, lifted by a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a silky tannic structure, giving way to a mineral and persistent finish.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.
A vintage marked by a vibrant freshness, where the balance between ripeness and tension yields wines of great purity.
- Ageing potential: 8 to 10 years, to be stored in a cool place (12–14°C) and away from light.
