While many Corsican wines are best enjoyed in their youth for their freshness and vibrant fruitiness, some cuvées have genuine ageing potential. The great red Patrimonio wines made from old Nielluccio vines can age between 8 and 15 years, developing notes of undergrowth, leather and gentle spices. The most ambitious Vermentino whites can withstand 4 to 6 years in the cellar, gaining in richness and complexity. Muscat du Cap Corse, a naturally sweet wine, is also well suited to ageing, its oxidative profile blossoming over 10 years and more under good storage conditions.3/3
