A historic estate rooted in the golden hillsides of Sauternes, where a medieval heritage blends with the standards of a Premier Cru Classé.
- Terroir : Gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the Sauternes Appellation, bathed in the morning mists of the Garonne, ideal for noble rot.
- Vinification : Plot-by-plot selection and patient aging in barrels, for sweet wines of rare precision and timeless elegance.
Tasting notes for the wine Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Lafaurie Peyraguey 1940
To the eye – Amber robe with golden reflections, of a silky density and crystalline clarity, like liquid honey captured in time.
On the nose – Aromas of candied fruits (apricot, fig), dried orange blossom, then notes of beeswax and toasted bread, before a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – Unctuous and velvety texture, balanced by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and persistent finish, where sweet spices and citrus zests intertwine.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a white Bordeaux-style wine glass to release its full complexity.
