The Château Léoville Barton 1986, a fine wine of Saint-Julien, comes from gravels and clays. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc offers blackcurrant, cedar, and spices after 18 months in barrels. Silky tannins, mineral freshness. Ideal with game or hard cheeses.
Château Léoville Barton A family estate rooted in the prestigious terroir of Saint-Julien, where the Bordeaux heritage has been passed down since 1826. - Terroir: Deep gravels over a clay subsoil, at the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, shaping wines of mineral elegance and remarkable tension. - Vinification: A classic blend aged in French oak barrels, combining structure and finesse for cuvées designed for cellaring. Tasting notes for Château Léoville Barton 1986 To the eye: Deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of silky density and crystalline brilliance. On the nose: Aromas of ripe blackcurrant, wild blackberry, and fresh cedar, lifted by a touch of blonde tobacco, toasted bread, and a subtle chalky salinity. On the palate: Velvety texture and polished tannins, carried by a lively acidity and a graphite minerality, leading to a long and persistent finish where gentle spices and notes of undergrowth intertwine. Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity. Vintage 1986 A vintage marked by perfect ripeness, offering a rare balance between power and elegance, typical of the great Saint-Julien wines. - Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2030–2035, stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
