The Château Léoville Barton 1975, a fine wine from Saint-Julien, reveals the gravelly soils of the Médoc. A Bordeaux blend aged in barrels, it seduces with notes of blackcurrant, cedar and tobacco, with hints of violet. Its palate, balanced and mineral, pairs well with game and aged cheeses.
Château Léoville Barton Nestled at the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation, this family estate has embodied the excellence of the Médoc's classified growths since 1826. - Terroir: Garonne gravel, gravelly and clay-limestone soils – a mineral setting that imparts tension and elegance to the wines. - Vinification: A traditional blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, patiently aged in French oak barrels for a precise and silky structure.
Tasting notes for Château Léoville Barton 1975 To the eye – A garnet red robe with tile-red hues, still vivid, revealing a dense texture and a slight chalky brilliance. On the nose – First fresh aromas of blackcurrant and violet, then deeper notes of cedar, blonde tobacco and dried herbs, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of roasted coffee. On the palate – A silky attack, carried by a taut acidity and a stony minerality, stretching into a long and elegant finish where candied fruits and soft spices intertwine. Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1975 A Médoc vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where cool nights preserved the wine's tension despite initially firm tannins. - Ageing potential: Ready to drink now, currently at its peak.
